This Pink Ford Bronco Looks Inspired by Barbie, but Is Actually a Tribute to Utah’s Great Salt Lake

A new trim package through the Ford Custom Garage program douses the Ford Bronco in stunning magenta details inside and out.The Desert Rising option adds two-toned magenta-and-black seats, white Method wheels, ...

If Barbie drove a Ford Bronco, it'd be this Desert Rising edition, the first in a line of new packages from what Ford is calling the Horizon Series. The berry-colored package pays homage to the desert around the Great Salt Lake in Utah, where bright pink hues are found in cactus blooms, the lake itself, and surrounding sand dunes. While the Bronco has a deep history of racing in the desert, this special design takes inspiration from the environment instead of the event.

To highlight the natural beauty of Utah's Salt Lake area, new Bronco Outer Banks models can be splashed with magenta accents. The Desert Rising package adds a light pink border around the grille and a dark magenta Bronco nameplate. Along the sides, abstract sand dunes stretch across thick stripes in various pink tones. The side graphics are optional if you're not bold enough to rock the full pink look in the suburbs.

The special-edition Bronco rides on custom white Method wheels and wears a Ford Custom Garage sticker and a white bucking bronco logo at the rear. Inside, a serialized center console badge shows off the Bronco's novelty, and the overhead grab handles also get a pop of pink. The most eye-catching interior feature, however, is the two-tone magenta-and-black seats with matching pink stitching.

This pink overhaul is the first in a series of bold designs Ford is rolling out as part of its Ford Customization reorganization, which brings together Genuine Ford Accessories, Ford Racing Parts, and Ford Custom Garage for a streamlined personalization process. Ford says almost half of its buyers customize their vehicles in some way, and the intent behind the new setup is to help people reach their final build goals faster, with a still-intact warranty and available factory installation.

Most of the other Bronco packages available through Ford Custom Garage sport more rugged-looking accessories and subtle designs. This new package is by far the most daring in the current lineup, and Ford says it was built for people who want a car that's "bold, expressive, and fun."

Ford hasn't released much else about the Horizon Series, but if this Bronco is any indication of what's ahead, we can likely expect more designs inspired by the environment these vehicles thrive in.

The Desert Rising package is only available on the Bronco Outer Banks in Oxford White, Shadow Black, Avalanche Gray, and Ruby Red. Orders are open now, with only 1000 units available, and Ford says the Desert Rising edition will add $13,695 to the price of a Bronco Outer Banks, which starts at $50,185 for 2026.

In true Hoosier fashion, her first car was a hot pink custom cardboard "Fiero-vette" for her kindergarten Kindy 500 race. She now autocrosses a 1994 Miata with her dad, which she learned to drive the night before her first event. Alayna went to Indiana University and graduated with a degree in journalism and a minor in graphic design. As a testament to her great taste in cars, her first real one was a metallic orange 2007 Chevy HHR, which she lovingly called "The Dumptruck."
