Denmark-based headset maker EPOS

EPOS says this latest update to the range has been designed to bridge the gap between human communication and AI productivity tools. In modern office settings and call centers, the quality of audio is essential, especially now that more of us are using AI tools in our jobs to transcribe conversations and interviews. With these applications, accuracy is vital and EPOS claims the Impact 1000 Series achieves an accuracy of 99% for voice input when used with AI assistants and voice prompts.

High levels of accuracy in picking up voices means that more AI tasks can be executed correctly at the first attempt. To deliver this level of precision, EPOS has used AI to not only boost productivity levels, but to create a seamless interface between the human voice and computers.

The Impact 1000 headsets use advanced voice pickup technology with machine learning that can scan the surrounding environment up to 32,000 times per second. This proactive technology can suppress disruptive background noise while also isolating and enhancing the quality of the user’s voice. The company says the result is “absolute clarity that outperforms the competition, ensuring the user’s intent is never lost, whether speaking to a global boardroom or a digital assistant.”

The EPOS Impact 1000 headset comes with its own charging stand so its always charged and ready to go.

Streamlined Product Range

Søren Holm Printz, VP of strategy and product management at EPOS, says: “The IMPACT 1000 has been in the market for three years, and in that time, it has consistently proven through rigorous, unbiased external testing that it is truly best-in-class.”

“For professionals who refuse to compromise on precision speech clarity, this headset remains the gold standard. As we enter an era where we work alongside AI, the IMPACT 1000 serves as the vital link, ensuring that every word is captured with the scientific accuracy needed for both human understanding and AI execution.”

The Impact 1000 is currently certified for use with Microsoft Teams Open Office, Zoom, Google Meet and Webex by Cisco. A recent firmware update introduced support for the use of Microsoft Teams and Zoom with Native Bluetooth. This means there’s no longer any need to use a Bluetooth dongle to get the highest quality sound. That said, EPOS does include a dongle for anyone using devices without Native Bluetooth support.

EPOS claims that by updating the Impact 1000 Series, it’s futureproofing how people work thanks to a choice of connectivity now that more flexibility solutions, like Native Bluetooth, are becoming more widespread in the workplace. Additionally, the new Impact 1000 Series has been cut from ten variants to just five, making it easier for companies to choose the right model of headset for employees.

The EPOS Impact 1000 headset has ANC to keep out unwanted noise and BrainAdapt to help reduce cognitive load by supporting the human brain’s natural way of processing sound.

EPOS BrainAdapt

At the core of the EPOS audio philosophy is a technology called BrainAdapt. This offers a unique approach with audio experiences that reduce cognitive load by supporting the human brain’s natural way of processing sound. The technology is specifically designed to protect users from listening fatigue, which also helps improve concentration. The technology is optimized for use with the latest AI-powered workflows.

By providing a high-quality signal or stream of data for use in AI processing, the Impact 1000 Series can ensure that advanced AI tools are able to function at peak performance levels, enabling users to focus on vocalizing their thoughts and commands instead of worrying about accuracy.

To help workers focus on their tasks, the Impact 1000 headsets also include Hybrid Adaptive ANC. Active Noise Cancelation technology doesn’t simply cut out unwanted ambient noises, it can intelligently adapt to the user’s environment by creating a personal zone of focus, even in challenging open-office situations. The ANC’s environmental control reacts instantly to any changes in the level of background noise, adapting the amount of noise reduction.

EPOS says this latest update to the range has been designed to bridge the gap between human communication and AI productivity tools.

Longer Battery Life

A full charge of the Impact 1000’s battery provides up to 55 hours of listening time with ANC turned off. With ANC engaged, that figure drops to 32 hours. As far as talk time goes, the headset can function for up to 20 hours, which is more than enough for two eight-hour shifts between charges.

Other features include call control on the headset body, plus a 360-degree busy light that informs colleagues when the user is busy on a call. The microphone boom has a mute LED and can rotate through 270 degrees, enabling the headset to be worn with the microphone boom arm on the left or the right side. The boom automatically mutes the microphone when lifted and can answer incoming calls simply by being lowered.
