Fall is a harsh time for many gamers' bank accounts, and Steam isn't making things any easier. The PC gaming platform just launched its big annual Autumn sale, and it's full of slashed prices and deep discounts for old and new games alike.

Steam is pretty good at recommending titles based on your previous playtime, friends' preferences, and store-wide bestsellers. If little here catches your eye, don't worry: Valve's got more sales planned throughout October. Still to come are the food-oriented Cooking Fest and Steam Next Fest, which will offer hundreds of playable demos for upcoming PC games.
