Episodes of The Howard Stern Show will also be made available to stream on HBO Max for the first time
Howard Stern has revealed a new setup and schedule for his long-running SiriusXM show, which will kick off its latest season on Sept. 14.
Stern will do just one show a week from now on, with new episodes airing every Monday. (In recent years, he had been broadcasting live twice weekly.) Additionally, video of The Howard Stern Show will be made available to stream for the first time on HBO Max. Those episodes will drop on Thursdays, and will sometimes feature bonus content.
Along with returning to the airwaves on Sept. 14, Stern will reveal a new programming lineup for his SiriusXM channel, Howard 100. That is expected to include Wrap Up Wednesday, hosted by long-term Stern associates Gary Dell’Abate and Jon Hein, as well as new plans for Stern’s massive archive of shows. A press release made no mention of Stern’s other channel, Howard 101, and plans for it moving forward.
The changes to The Howard Stern Show come after Stern inked a new three-year deal with SiriusXM last December. That followed months of speculation about Stern’s future and possible retirement, with Stern himself characteristically stoking some of the chatter himself.
In July, The Howard Stern Show initiated a round of layoffs, letting go several regulars of the morning ensemble, including Memet Walker, Benjy Bronk, Jon Blitt, and Mike Trainor, and a number of behind-the-scenes staffers. Only the most senior employees were spared, according to a source.

Retirement rumors have persisted since Stern’s 2025 summer hiatus, with President Donald Trump even chiming in. Stern then began teasing a big announcement on social media, saying he would address everything when his show returned. When it did, Stern pranked listeners by having Andy Cohen open the episode and explain that he was taking over the time slot.
Stern eventually took back the mic after about 20 minutes and joked, “What pisses me off is that now I can’t leave. I’ve been thinking about retiring. Now I can’t.”
